Mat Mladin

Just got My Mat Mladin hat in the mail today via Ebay, no big deal really other than I really almost idolize my favorite motorcycle rider for so many reasons. The hat is just a clever way on his part to show his country of origin, Australia and my way of showing I support the guy for more reasons than his riding abilities. Mat is a very interesting man who you will rarely see smiling or laughing while working at the race track, all business make no friends and work on ways to beat his opponents. Besides his abundance of talent and riding the best bike bike, having the best crew and best winning attitude in the paddock he takes nothing for granted and works harder than anybody else to stay fit, to learn the set ups and to play the occational mindgames with his counterparts. Mat is also a real proponent of track safety and riders rights never afraid to complain to the powers that be to make something right at the track. He has tried to help the sport of Professional motorcycle racing grow to a level that is has so far failed to reach. When I watch him race I see the amount of professionalism that he puts forth and this has translated to over 81 wins and counting in the Premier Superbike class. The man is an accomplished pilot, own 2 planes and flies himself to some of his races, even takes pictures from his travels and shares them with us via Twitter. The biggest attribute, or quality that he shares is his ability to be accountable for his losses and humble for his wins, always thanks everybody when he wins and considers it a team effort. When he loses he s the first one to congratulate the winner and says he got beat by the better man on that given day! I find him to be a very honest person who is gracious if not overly friendly for autographs and picture opportunities. He is the reason that I got into motorcycles over 10 years ago. Something about the guy is just plane cool, he carries himself like the 6 time champion that he is and I can really respect that to no end. He is always seen with his young girls at the winners circle after races, just an overall good guy, no nonsense mans man kind of guy for whom I hold the highest regards! Pictured at top right is a picture he took with my Son Ty at the races at California Speedway in April this year. Go Mat! and by the way he is on his way to his 7th Championship this year
